Spring Trends: Stripes Galore

If you read our last trend post, you'll know the color yellow is the hottest color for spring and summer. But if you feel yellow really isn't your thing, consider another runway trend that's taking over - stripes! They're bolder than pretty polka dots and easy to pull off too, if you choose the right colors and cuts. Check out some of our picks below for inspiration!

Easy + Breezy: The Brunch/Errands/Fests/ANYTHING Dress

Soft, comfortable, the most flattering cut, and featuring a unique, rose-gold zipper details under the sleeve - truly, a dress you could wear for any occasion. We've paired it with a pearl and rose gold necklace, plus a crossbody bag that has just enough room for cash, card, lipgloss and cell phone to make an entire ensemble you could take around town. Try it with a heels and a cropped bolero for date night or other more formal occasion.

Strut Your Stripes: For Meetings and Galas

You don't need a drop of color to make a bold fashion choice. Just try this jumpsuit. The stripes flare out down the leg, visually slimming the waist. Here we've paired it with some simple jewelry and a bejeweled belt; try it with a blazer and black belt for something office-ready.

For the Commitment-Phobe: The Striped Tote

Still feeling put-off by stripes? Try this tote. It's simple yet graphic design will catch eyes and garner compliments with no effort at all - plus, at $48, it won't break the bank. Even the most pattern-fearing among us could pull it off easily and thanks to the price point, you don't have to feel bad.

Consignment On the Mind

If you're budget-conscious, try shopping our consignment section! Due to the cyclical nature of fashion, stripes have come and gone (and come again) time after time. Here's a small selection of what we have going in store now.

New at Lela: Spring Outerwear

Even though we're past spring's official start date, the weather is still a little brisk. Luckily, Lela Boutique is here to help! If you need some inspiration - and an easy way to dress up your everyday look without buying a ton of new pieces - look no further.

Here to Stay: The Bomber Jacket

I bet you thought the bomber jacket was only for fall and winter, didn't you? Think again! This sheer version reimagines the new staple in a spring and summer-friendly way. Dress it up - shown here, with a sequined top and black skirt - or dress it down with jeans and a t-shirt. A unique but still versatile piece that is sure to turn heads and invite compliments.

For When You Mean Business: The Tuxedo Duster

Business in front, party in the back is the motto for this jacket! The crisp collar adds structure to any outfit, and the nonfunctional zipper and leather detail gives it just enough of an edge without trying too hard.

Eternal Classic: The Denim Jacket

Speaks for itself, doesn't it? Summer pieces become spring-ready when you have a denim jacket to throw over them. This effortless layering piece is essential in every closet. Is your white denim looking careworn? Save yourself some trouble - skip the bleach and start fresh with a new one.

Don't Reinvent the Wheel: The Floral-Print Jacket

Every year, come springtime, the floral prints have a resurgence. And why shouldn't they? After a long, cold, and drab winter we're all dying for a little bit of color. Easing out of a black-and-grey color palette is as easy as throwing this jacket over your favorite black sheath or a white button down and black slacks. Pair with a coordinating statement necklace and it's like you reinvented your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

When You Want To Be Spotted: The Graphic Striped Jacket

This print is sure to catch people's attention - in a good way! Stripes are in-line with trends for this season, and the black-and-white color scheme makes it simple to pair with a variety of colors. The one button closure gives the wearer a flattering silhouette, and the yellow lining and contrast stripes make for fun details.

Spring Trends: (Not So) Mellow Yellow

If you, like me, spent too much time pouring over fashion magazines and online runway spreads these past few weeks, seems like there was one color on every designer's mind for SS '17: yellow. The sunny shades were spotted on the catwalk for Jason Wu, Gucci, Kate Spade NY and many others.  Some find yellow intimidating to wear, so here are a few outfits we thought anybody could rock.

Cool Girl, Cold Shoulder

For the everywoman who wants something a little subtler than a style ripped directly from the runway: the cold shoulder top! In addition to the color yellow, voluminous bell sleeves are still a fashion staple this season. Black pants and a chunky heel make it comfortable and simple; a statement necklace brings it all together.

Smooth Like Butter

If bumblebee yellow is a little too much, how about something like this? A buttery blonde shift is a perfect spring pick-me-up. Throw on a jean jacket and you're brunch-ready; try it with a blazer and the office is now your catwalk. Once the temperature heats up, this sweet yellow number paired with some cute sandals works as a garden party staple, too.

C.E.O of Fun

Office activities can be dreary but you don't have to dress the part. Break the vicious cycle of black blazers and try something a little more colorful!  A yellow jacket would also pair beautifully with a navy pant and a coordinating scarf for a more nautical look come summertime.

What do you think? Are you going to incorporate some yellow into your wardrobe this spring? If you do, be sure to let us know and post your outfit inspiration on the Lela facebook page or in the comments below!
